Customer Background

Babell is a Polish manufacturer of women’s lingerie and loungewear, producing underwear, nightwear, casual garments and related apparel products. In lingerie production, consistent cutting is important for handling soft or elastic fabrics and maintaining sewing quality and garment appearance.

The Challenge

Babell’s previous cutting equipment produced inconsistent cut parts, resulting in fabric waste, repeated recutting and additional manual correction. This increased labour input in the cutting room and delayed production work.

The Solution and Result

Babell implemented OSHIMA automatic cutting equipment for volume production. According to the original case record, the installed cutting solution delivered 97% cutting accuracy and a move-and-cut speed of up to 4,500 RPM at the time of implementation.

After installation, Babell reported four times higher cutting-room efficiency, reduced fabric waste and a 25% reduction in cutting-room manpower. Employees previously involved in corrective cutting work were reassigned to other production activities.

Conclusion

By introducing automatic cutting equipment, Babell improved cut-part consistency, reduced recutting and material loss, and used its workforce more effectively.

OSHIMA provides automatic cutting and related cutting-room equipment for lingerie, loungewear and garment manufacturers seeking to improve fabric cutting operations.
