What is the difference between AI fabric inspection and traditional fabric inspection?

icon icon

Traditional fabric inspection mainly relies on operators to identify fabric defects, defect locations, and defect severity. The inspection result often remains as a manual record or inspection report.

AI fabric inspection can generate defect images, defect locations, and inspection data, making fabric quality information easier to store, review, and trace. Different AI fabric inspection systems can support fabric defect detection, but how the inspection data is used afterward determines its practical value in the factory workflow.

OSHIMA’s added value is that we do not only provide AI fabric inspection equipment. We also offer fabric spreading machines, cutting equipment, OSHIMA Smart Factory Platform, and cutting room process experience. This allows inspection data to go beyond a report and be extended into spreading, pre-cutting decisions, equipment data management, and quality tracking.

Through our ecosystem, factories can plan AI inspection, spreading, cutting, and data management with one equipment and service team. This helps reduce communication work across different machines, systems, and suppliers. For factories that want to gradually build a smart cutting room, AI fabric inspection becomes a data entry point for downstream production workflows, not just a standalone inspection machine.

icon

What types of factories are suitable for AI fabric inspection systems?

icon icon

Suitable for garment and textile factories that require high-quality inspection and improved efficiency.

icon

Does OSHIMA offer a cloud-connected IoT manufacturing ecosystem?

icon icon

Yes.

OSHIMA offers an AI + IoT + Cloud smart manufacturing ecosystem centered around the cutting room, connected through OSHIMA Smart Factory Platform to integrate machines, data, and production workflows.

Key integrations include:

  • AI Fabric Inspection for digital defect reporting and defect-location data
  • Connected Fabric Spreading for smarter spreading and material optimization
  • Digital Cutting Room Workflow connecting inspection, spreading, and cutting data
  • Cloud-based Dashboard for real-time monitoring, analytics, and multi-machine connectivity

This helps manufacturers move from standalone equipment toward a Connected Cutting Room ecosystem.

How to choose the right fabric fusing machines

icon icon

Different fusing machines are designed for different garment interlining applications. Choose the right model based on production scale, fabric type, pressure requirement, belt structure, heating system, and operating method. This table includes continuous belt fusing machines, rotary fusing press machines, and feeding / collecting equipment for large fusing lines.

Fusing Need Recommended Model Selection Guide
Sampling rooms, small batches, or limited-space production lines OP-450GS OP-450GSL OP-520GS OP-520GSL OP-450NS Choose the compact open-side fusing machine. This series is suitable for sampling rooms, small-batch production, and limited-space production lines. GS / GSL models use cord-edge belts with forced track correction, while NS models use seamless belts with motor-driven correction. Most standard configurations use rotary separation for fabric release, making the series suitable for flexible small-batch operations.
Daily garment production, general interlining fusing, and cost-sensitive use OP-600F OP-600FL OP-600FA OP-600FAL Choose the economical 3 kg continuous fusing machine. This series uses cord-edge belts with forced track correction and standard upper separator with lower scraper. It is suitable for general garment production and daily interlining bonding. OP-600F / OP-600FA are front-in / front-out models, while OP-600FL / OP-600FAL are front-in / rear-out models.
Cost-effective equipment positioning OP-900 OP-900A OP-900L OP-900LA OP-1000 OP-1000A OP-1000L OP-1000LA Choose the cost-effective 5 kg continuous fusing machine. This series uses seamless belts with motor-driven correction and 6 heating tubes with segmented temperature control. Compared with the OP-600F series, it provides higher pressure while maintaining a cost-effective positioning.
Shirt production and general interlining fusing OP-60LN OP-60LNII Choose the cost-effective continuous fusing machine commonly used for shirt production. This series uses cord-edge belts with forced track correction and standard upper and lower scraper separation. OP-60LN is the single-stage pressure model, while OP-60LNII is the dual-stage pressure model.
Shirt interlining requiring more stable two-stage pressure OP-600SP OP-900SP Choose the two-stage pressure continuous fusing machine. This series uses seamless belts with motor-driven correction, three-zone heating, and 12 heating tubes. The two-stage pneumatic pressure system is suitable for shirt production requiring more stable interlining fusing conditions.
Suits, demanding garments, or longer feeding area requirements OP-100LE OP-120LE Choose the extended-feeding continuous fusing machine. This series uses seamless belts with motor-driven correction, three-zone heating, and 9 heating tubes. The extended feeding area provides more space for fabric and interlining placement before fusing, making it suitable for suits and demanding garment production.
Medium-high output, station-based interlining pressing, and rotary workflow OP-5288 OP-5388 Choose the rotary fusing press machine. This series is not a continuous belt fusing machine, so belt and separation configurations do not apply. OP-5288 uses a dual-station rotary design, while OP-5388 uses a three-station rotary design to support a more continuous loading and pressing workflow. It is suitable for medium-high output interlining pressing.
Soft fabrics, stretch fabrics, or tension-sensitive materials OP-900NS OP-1000NS OP-1200NS OP-1600NS Choose the continuous fusing machine for soft and stretch fabrics. This series uses seamless belts with motor-driven correction, three-zone heating, and 12 heating tubes. OP-900NS / 1000NS / 1200NS use upper rotary separation and lower scraper separation, while OP-1600NS uses upper and lower rotary separation. It is suitable for soft, stretch, and tension-sensitive materials.
Demanding garments, long preheating, and high-pressure fusing conditions OP-1000NE OP-1200NE Choose the high-pressure continuous fusing machine for demanding garment production. This series uses seamless belts with motor-driven correction, 12 independent heating sets, and three-zone digital temperature control. The longer preheating zone and heating-lift function during high-temperature shutdown make it suitable for higher-specification fusing requirements.
Large garment production lines, wide-width interlining fusing, and mass production OP-1400 OP-1400L OP-1600 OP-1600L OP-1800 OP-1800L Choose the large continuous interlining fusing machine. This series uses PTFE seamless belts with motor-driven correction, 12-zone heating, and PID temperature control. L-type models include an extended lower conveyor for longer processing time, making them suitable for large production lines and wide-width fusing.
Large factories, mass production, and high-spec interlining fusing OP-1200NL OP-1400NL OP-1600NL OP-1800NL Choose the large high-spec fusing machine for mass production. This series uses seamless belts with motor-driven correction, 18 heating sets, and three-zone heating control. The longer preheating zone and higher heating capacity make it suitable for high-volume and high-specification fusing requirements.
Roll-fed woven tapes, narrow strip materials, and secondary transfer OP-600SPII OP-900SPII Choose the fusing and setting machine for woven tapes and narrow strips. This series uses seamless belts with motor-driven correction, two-zone heating, and standard upper and lower scraper separation. Multiple front guide blocks help position several narrow strips before fusing, making it suitable for roll-fed woven tapes, narrow strip components, and secondary surface transfer.
Roll feeding and collecting for large fusing machines OP-1800T Choose the feeding and collecting rack. OP-1800T is not a fusing machine itself. It is used with large fusing machines for roll feeding and roll collecting, and is suitable for machines with a working width of 1400 mm and above, including A / L series, NS series, and NL series.
