What is a condensing boiler?

A condensing boiler is a boiler that recovers waste heat from flue gas. When a gas-fired boiler operates, hot exhaust gas is produced. This exhaust gas contains water vapor and heat energy. In a standard boiler, much of this heat is discharged. A condensing boiler uses heat recovery design to reuse part of this waste heat.

The recovered heat can be used to preheat boiler feedwater or improve overall heat exchange efficiency, helping reduce gas consumption. For factories with long operating hours, higher fuel costs, or emission management concerns, a condensing boiler is often worth evaluating.

Advantages

  • Recovers waste heat from flue gas
  • Helps reduce gas consumption
  • Suitable for long-hour steam or hot water systems
  • Useful for fuel cost management

Considerations

  • Initial equipment cost is usually higher than standard boilers
  • System design, water quality, and condensate handling should be planned properly
  • Actual fuel savings depend on operating conditions and recovery efficiency
